Rheinmetall Uvision HERO

Rheinmetall and Uvision’s HERO is an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) of the “loitering munition” type, which remains airborne for long periods of time to decide on the time and target of attack with flexibility. All HERO systems are designed to operate in complex battlefield conditions, including environments with jammed radio connections or without GPS reception.

Rheinmetall claims that the system “locates, tracks and engages emerging enemy targets with low signatures beyond the line of sight”, and that it “locates and tracks the enemy and analyses possible targets, helping to select high-value targets as well as suitable timing, direction and angle of attack before carrying out a high-precision strike.”
